Victoria Park cafe & community hub

New cafe and community hub building in the heart of the town’s busy public park

Following competitive tender, we were awarded construction of a new extension, full remodelling and refurbishment to an existing of date building within the busy and popular park located in the heart of Ashford.

The new extension and refurbishment works will be undertaken within a live public park environment, adjacent to the children’s play area and main visitor car park facility and will create a large modern café and community hub building.

The existing building, housing the park’s public toilets and additionally, a small nursery building, will be fully refurbished to remain as upgraded toilets with the addition of a new changing places facility, and a nursery as part of the contract.

All adjacent external works and landscaping are to be carried out by another contractor working on behalf of the landscape architect, which coincides with the regeneration plan for the whole of Victoria Park and Watercress fields. Works will include new play areas and extensive landscaping, for which the new café building will be the heart of.

The new and improved facilities promise a high quality building that will be used by both local visitors, community groups and will help to increase footfall for further afield, with the aim of assisting the wider Ashford economy.
