Birchington Primary School

Birchington CE Primary is a community school who’s mission is “for every child to develop the skills and values they need to become a successful and fulfilled member of society and have the confidence to make a difference”.

Working within a live school environment, Chartway Construction undertook this D&B steel framed project to construct a new teaching block comprising of six classrooms, to enable the school to increase capacity from one form to two form year groups. The new teaching block also included lift, break out spaces, small hall and toilets.

In addition to this, a new entrance and car park were also constructed along with the refurbishment of existing classrooms within the three buildings, Quex, Mr Mac and Crisppe. This would enable much needed enhanced and improved learning facilities and new teaching space for a growing school.
