Benenden School, Dining Hall

Benenden, with more than 550 pupils, has been one of the leading boarding schools in Britain for the last 90 years. Situated within a historic grade II listed manor house, within 250 acres of attractive parkland in Kent. We have undertaken numerous projects for this client spanning across 10 years.

The aim of the project was to extend and refurbish the current dining hall and adjacent associated areas of Benenden School’s grade II listed Hempsted House.

Scope of works included the creation of a new glulam frame and brick infill and an opening within the existing manor house external wall to create a new entrance into a new extension for the dining room. The new extension included a flat roof with large structural lantern light with self-cleaning glazing.

We under took remodelling works to the adjacent existing parts of the building to include the new provision of store rooms, toilets, public areas etc. All refurbishment works were completed to a very high standard and were well received by the client.
