BBS wins prestigious Mote Park Visitor Centre

Maidstone Borough Council awards BBS the new Mote Park Visitor Centre Contract

Maidstone based building contractor BBS Construction, has been awarded the construction contract to deliver the new Mote Park Visitor Centre and Estate Services Building on behalf of Maidstone Borough Council.

The much-awaited new visitor centre will include a café with both indoor and outdoor seating areas, demolition of the existing toilet block and construction of a much improved and integrated WC facility, along with a flexi-space for learning, meetings and hire. Works are expected to start on site early spring.

With over 35 years’ experience, BBS Construction, whose headquarters are in Maidstone, are specialists in a range of construction and engineering disciplines, with recent projects including the award winning winery at Hush Heath Estate and the new Dartford Valley Rugby Club as well as prestigious educational projects such as the new three-storey teaching block at St Edmund’s School, Benenden School Science block and sports pavilion, along with refurbishment works at William Harvey Hospital, Medway Hospital and The Horder Centre. 

Mote Park is a 440-acre multi-use public park located in the heart of Maidstone, Kent. Previously a country estate it was converted to landscaped park land at the end of the 18th century before becoming a municipal park. It includes the former stately home Mote House together with a miniature railway, outdoor activity centre, leisure centre, pitch and putt golf course and a boating lake. The new Visitor Centre and Estate Services Building are the second phase of MBC’s £4.3 million investment in the redevelopment and improvement of Mote Park.
